Robert de Angerton and Waleran de Lomley, burgesses of Newcastle upon Tyne, state that in August in the twelfth year of the king's reign they sent twenty sacks of wool to St-Omer from Newcastle, in a ship from Great Yarmouth, but that on St Bartholomew's day in the same month they were stolen by Flemings off the Isle of Thanet, although a truce was in operation at the time. They request a suitable remedy.

The petition states that the attack took place in August, 12 Edward II (1318), and a note on the guard dates the petition to 1319, with reference to C 81/108, no.5090, which is dated 29 September, 13 Edward II (1319).
