Description
Petitioners
Aymer de Seint Amand (St Amand)
Name(s)
de Seint Amand (St Amand), Aymer
Addressees
King and council
Nature of request
Aymer de Seint Amand states that his wood of Ditchley, which pertains to his manor of Bloxham and is within the precinct of the Forest of Wychwood, was taken into the king's hand during the time of Aymer de Seint Amand, whose heir he is, by reason of waste made in the said wood, and remained there through the negligence of Marie de Seint Amand, Aymer's widow, who held Bloxham in dower. He requests that he might be able to find security to answer for the waste, and that he might be able to have the wood back.
Nature of endorsement
The Warden of the Forest or his lieutenant is to be instructed, by a writ containing the effect of this petition, that they are to inform themselves, by their rolls or by inquest or in any other way, of the cause of the taking of the said wood into the king's hand, and of what waste was done, and to what damage; and they are to inform Chancery of the cause and the other articles, and the Chancellor is further to do justice.

Bloxham, Oxfordshire
People mentioned

Note
Dated on the guard to 1336 seq. on the grounds that, according to CIPM vol. VII, no.531, the petitioner was 18 in 7 Edward III (25 January 1333 - 24 January 1334), and would therefore have been 21 in 10 Edward III (25 January 1336 - 24 January 1337). The petition was probably presented shortly after he reached his majority.
