Nicholas Adlard, Henry Jacob and Justin Adlard, owners of the ship 'Seint Edward' and the cog 'Nostre Dame', which were lost on the king's service in Scotland, together with their anchors and cables, valued at £30 by the Mayor and good people of Winchelsea, ask the king to order Robert de Burghesshe, Warden of the Cinq Ports, to levy this sum from the community, for whom the ships were sent.
Nature of endorsement
They are to have a writ of Chancery to the Warden, to compel them to make satisfaction for the aforesaid damages, as they have been able reasonably to show.
