Nature of request
William de Acton states that in time of peace between England and France, the King of France ordered the seizure of a cargo of woad in his ship at St-Valery-sur-Somme, without giving a reason. He has since had several writs to the King of France for the return of this cargo, and has now been told by the Chancellor of France that it will not be returned. He requests a remedy.

He is to await a treaty.
Note
Dated on the dorse to? 1325, with reference to the expected treaty. Northumberland Petitions no.214, however, says this may date from just after the war of St Sardos, 1323-5, but a similar complaint is to be found in no.219, relating to 1337.
