The abbot and convent of Abingdon complain that their abbey and several of their manors have been burnt and destroyed, and chalices, vestments and other ornaments stolen, and ask that, in order to restore their abbey, they might appropriate their church of Lewknor and hold it for their own use: and that he might write to the pope and others in the Roman curia who might help, in aid of this appropriation.
