Nature of request
The petitioners complain about people who, to avoid paying debts which they owe, make gifts, grants and feoffments of their goods or lands, and then retreat into sanctuary or hide themselves where their creditors cannot find them; and especially they complain about Thomas Marsshe and James Fynche, who are indebted to William Haddon, the former husband of Jane Welby, whose executors Jane and William Dunthorn are. They ask the commons to ask the king to ordain, by authority of parliament that the executors might have a writ to the sheriffs of London, to make proclamation that Thomas and James are to appear in person before the judges of the Common Bench, to answer concerning the sums owed by them; with various provisions for various eventualities.

This petition is enrolled on the roll of the parliament summoned at Westminster in October 1472 (12 Edward IV) and prorogued a number of times until January 1475 (Rot. Parl. vol. VI, pp.110a-111a). According to p.110a, this petition was presented on 6 June 14 Edward IV (1474).
