Thomas Ormond, esquire, complains that because he has been confused with one Thomas Ormond, knight, who was convicted of high treason in the parliament of the first year of Edward IV, and who, he says, never existed, he has had several manors, lands and tenements seized into the king's hand. He asks that the act convicting this non-existent Thomas Ormond, knight, might be considered null and void by authority of parliament; provided that no person should be chargeable for any goods or issues taken from his possessions before the first day of the present parliament, and that this act does not prejudice anyone having any of the possessions that belonged to James Ormond, late Earl of Wiltshire, and that this act does not extend in any way to the manor, lordship or hundred of Rochford in Essex.

This petition is enrolled on the roll of the parliament summoned at Westminster in October 1472 (12 Edward IV) and prorogued a number of times until January 1475 (Rot. Parl. vol. VI, p.26a-b). It would seem, from pp.3a and 39a that this petition was delivered during the session which lasted from 3 October to 30 November 1472.
