Nature of request
The prince states that the duchy of Cornwall was granted to him with certain provisions, restraints and exceptions as appear in the act of livery made in parliament. These provisions greatly dismember and diminish the duchy to the disinheritance of the prince. The prince requests that the king ordain that he might enjoy the duchy in the same estate and inheritance that Edward of Woodstock, son of Edward III, and that Henry V later enjoyed them as dukes of Cornwall.Reciting:1) Letters patent of Edward III granting the duchy of Cornwall to his eldest son Edward of Woodstock, 17 March 1337;2) Letters patent of Edward III granting further rights and confirmations to Edward of Woodstock, 18 March 1337;3) Letters patent of Edward III granting further rights and confirmations to Edward of Woodstock, 3 January 1338.

Let it be as it is desired, saving to the king certain things in the manner and form following.

Note
Dated by the heading in Rot. Parl. vol. V, p.345 that makes this a petition in the Coventry parliament of 38 Hen. VI. This must date to 1459, as there was only one parliament in that regnal year.
