Name(s)

Remembrancer of the King's Exchequer
Nature of request
Forde states that the offices of clerk of the office of the Pipe and of remembrancer of the king's Exchequer are in the gift of the treasurer, and that he was possessed of the office of the Pipe. Following the dismissal of Thorp, he was mover to the office of Remembrancer. However Thorp obtained letters patent granting him the office of Remembrancer for life and has kept Forde out of the office. He would only vacate the office for that of 3rd baron of the Exchequer whereby Fallan, then 3rd baron was induced to vacate the office. Forde is now held bound to Fallan in 40 marks annually unless Fallan was compensated for the same. Forde is impoverished and requests that the payment of the 40 marks be held void.
