Nature of request
1) The petitioners state that many creditors of the late duke of Gloucester are impoverished and some imprisoned because of non-payment of sums owed to them because no one for fear of the loss of their own goods will take up the administration. They request that the king will ordain that the archbishop of Canterbury and his fellow commissioners will take up the administration of the duke's goods to perform his will and settle his debts. If these will not suffice they are to have the authority to take various lands of the duke's into their hands.2) It is to be unlawful for anyone to bring actions against the archbishop and his commissioners.
