Nature of request
1) The petitioners state that much of their estates lie around several rivers, and are damaged by inundations of water, and that they are heavily burdened by the payment of tenths and subsidies. They request that it be granted that they do not need to pay more than £40 in any full subsidy, and provide for this in the act of resumption.2) Clause for inclusion in the act of resumption, that the act is not prejudicial to the abbot and convent's grant.
Nature of endorsement
The king by the advice of the lords spiritual and temporal agrees the proviso as it is desired during the life of the abbot. Following his death the king will resume into his hands the grants contained in the proviso to be at his pleasure.
