Burton who was lately sent on behalf of the English clergy to the council general at Basle requests letters under the privy seal to the chancellor according to the annexed copy.Item: grant of letters of protection to Burton, and to Slater and Beaumaris his servants from 18 November for a year.
Nature of endorsement
It was agreed by the advice of the parliament held at Westminster on 8 July 1433 that the petition be endorsed in the following form: Let it be just as it is petitioned. Let it be also similar protections for the prior of Norwich and Master Thomas Brouns at the council of Basle if they wish to have letters of protection of this kind.
