Nature of request
Shotesbroke states that he was granted 50 marks by the king by his letters patent for his good service in France to be taken from the manor of Orston with its soke during the minority of the Roos heir. By negligence and without council at law Shotesbroke took from the treasurer the manor at farm during the minority of the Roos heir by a letters patent of 12 July 1433, and the patent contained a clause giving the farmer an allowance for any annuities or grants granted to be taken from the manor. However the barons of the Exchequer do not wish to allow this. Shotesbroke requests that the commons request that the king grant a letter of the privy seal to the chancellor that he receive the letters patent from Shotesbroke granting the farm to be cancelled, and issue new letters for 50 marks to be taken annually by Shotesbroke from the manor.
