Nature of request
The petitioners request that the commons request from the king to grant to them a licence for Coventre, Denton, Cheyne, Chaldewell and Forster to grant to the prioress and nuns of Littlemore 60s. of annual rent issuing from six messuages and 5 acres of meadow with appurtenance in Oxford in exchange for all the lands, tenements and fisheries with all rights, franchises, liberties and appurtenances of the prioress and nuns in Berewey, Ely and Little Thetford.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be just as it is petitioned without fine being taken, for God because they are poor.
Note
The petition and attached draft are dated by the title in Rot. Parl. IV, p.458 to 11 Henry VI, making this 1432-3. The petition can be more closely dated by the letters patent issued in response to the petition, and in accordance with the draft on 8 July 1433 (CPR 1429-36, p.287).
