- William Brampton states that his brother Robert has pretended to be William's factor and attorney, binding himself and William to diverse persons in England and abroad for great sums for merchandise and other things bought from them by Robert, though he was never his factor or attorney, and the obligations were not made with his agreement, and he has never had the merchandise to his use or profit. Because of this he cannot take any merchandise abroad for fear of it being arrested or suffer other grievance from those people with sureties to his great ruin without the king's aid. He requests that the commons request from the king that he and his executors are entirely discharged of all such obligations and sureties made by his brother, and are not at any time vexed, injured or impleaded because of them.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- The date of this is not entirely clear, it is a near duplicate of SC 8/26/1266 which was answered, and dates to c. 1432. However this petition is differently phrased in places, and does have a different form altogether for the request, so it is possible that it is an earlier petition that was ignored, or a later petition submitted because the earlier one though favourably anwered, did not lead to an end of the problems faced by Brampton.
