Description

Miners, Richard
Addressees
King and the lords spiritual and temporal in parliament.
Nature of request
Miners was seised of the manor of Willersley, the mill of Cromford and other lands and tenements in the wapentake of Wirksworth and a bargain was made between him and Roger Leech by the ordinance of the chief justice and justices, namely that Miners enfeoff Pirton and Booth and others named by Roger Leech in fee simple to the use of Roger Leech, for which Leech should pay Miners 100 marks, and after having received livery the feoffees were to grant to Miners an annual rent of 16 marks for his life, and 40s.. He has enfeoffed them, but they have not granted the annuity or sum, and have enfeoffed one Ralph Leech. The sums are in arrears to the ruin of Miners, and he requests that Babbington, Cokayn, Trowhit, Pole, Pirton, Booth and Ralph Leche be summoned before them and examined on the matter, and if the matter be found to be true that a remedy be ordained for Miners as he has no remedy at common law.
