Nature of request
The petitioners, who were enfeoffed with certain castles, lordships, manors, lands, tenements, rents and services by Henry V, complain that they cannot receive the homages, fealties and other services of their tenants according to the common law, but must do so all together - which greatly harms their tenants. They ask the king to ordain, by authority of the present parliament, that they might receive the homage and fealty of their tenants individually.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] Soit baille as seignurs (It is to be delivered to the lords).[On dorse] The king, with the advice and assent of the lords spiritual and temporal, and also of the commons of this present parliament, has granted this petition as is desired by it. Provided always that as a result of this grant the enfeoffment of which the petition makes mention is not of greater force or effect than it was previously.
