Nature of request
Margaret, widow of Roger Scrop, asks the commons to ask the Duke of Bedford and the lords that by authority of the present parliament she might be privy to, and have advantage of, the record in the King's Bench by which John Nyandser, her late husband, was acquitted of raping her, and that she might be able to enter into all the manors, lands and tenements assigned to her as dower from her late husband Roger Scrop, notwithstanding anything done by John Nyandser, or any seizure of these manors, lands or tenements into the king's hand, or any letters patent made concerning them, notwithstanding.
Nature of endorsement
The petitioner has the choice of suing to the king to have his grace on this matter, or to sue in Chancery to have her recovery, according to the course of common law.

Note
This petition is edited in Rot. Parl. vol. IV p.164a-b (no. 2) as being from 9 Henry V (21 March 1421 - 20 March 1422). In that case it would have been presented at the parliament of December 1421, when the Duke of Bedford was presiding. Other parliaments presided over by him were those of October 1419 and November 1417. A note on the guard says 'Prob. Dec. 1421, cf. preced. + seq.'
