The soldiers of Calais complain that a large sum of money is due to them for unpaid wages. They ask that they might have, in part payment of this, the sum received from the last assignment made by the king, and that a suitable ordinance be made for the payment of the remainder.

Note
This petition is edited in Rot. Parl. vol. IV p.159b (no. 5) as being from 9 Henry V (21 March 1421 - 20 March 1422). A note on the dorse says 'Prob. May 1421, cf. preced.'CPR 1416-22 p.401 is dated at Westminster, 11 July 1421: although, as this was an ongoing problem, it doesn't necessarily mean much in terms of dating.
