Nature of request
Thomas Mountagu, Earl of Salisbury, asks the King to ordain, by authority of the present parliament, that he might be heir in blood to his father, forfeited for treason in the reign of Henry IV, and might enjoy all the advantages of that position, and that he and his heirs might be inheritable, and able to sue all manner of actions, and that he might have all his father's lands, tenements and other possessions of any kind, notwithstanding any gifts or grants of the king or his father, or any other obstacle.

[On face] Soit baille as seignurs (It is to be delivered to the lords).[On dorse] The response to this petition, together with the petition itself, are enrolled on the roll of the parliament held at Westminster on 2 May in the ninth year of the reign of King Henry, the fifth since the conquest.
