Description
Petitioners
Eleanor Seynt Amand (St Amand).
Name(s)
Seynt Amand (St Amand), Eleanor
Addressees
Commons of parliament.
Nature of request
Eleanor Seynt Amand complains about numerous attacks on her lands, servants and tenants made by Reginald, Lord Grey of Ruthin and his men and servants between 1404 and the present, and especially that, as Reginald is using his office of Justice of the Peace to commit these crimes and to prevent her from having justice. She asks the commons to ask the king that he might be discharged from this office during the current parliament, that he might be compelled to find a heavy security to keep the peace, such a sum as he would not wish to lose, in the current parliament, for him and his men and servants generally against her men, servants and tenants, and all other lieges of the king, that John Beche, John Armourer, John Coke, John Stanlowe, William Umfray, John Aley, John Barlicorne and Thomas Payne might find individual securities, and that commissions might be given to suitable justices and others, to enquire into the matter and to hear and determine it.
