Lawrence de Platea complains that while he was wrongly imprisoned in the Fleet prison while under safe-conduct, by the Earl of Arundel, formerly Treasurer of England, the same Treasurer seized various wines and other possessions of his, under pretext of taking the goods of Richard Garner. Despite suing to the King and to parliament, and the restitution of his goods being ordered by the King, they have never been restored to him. He asks the commons to ask the King and lords that his goods might be restored to him.

[On face] Soit prie a Roy (A request is to be made to the King).[On dorse] [Number, xl or xv, deleted] Communes petitiones directe consilio domini regis (Common petitions sent to the lord king's council).This petition is to be delivered to the king's council, and the lords of the same council are to have full power, by authority of this parliament, to ordain a remedy and do justice for the complainant, on the whole matter of this petition.[A contemporary note on the dorse says, in Latin: 'Petitions presented in the parliament held at Westminster on 16 March in the third year of the reign of King Henry, the fifth since the conquest.']

Dated on the dorse to the parliament of 16 March 3 Henry V (1416). Thomas Fitz Alan, Earl of Arundel, died on 13 October 1415. He was Treasurer from 21 March 1413 until his death. Henry Beaufort, Bishop of Winchester, was Chancellor of England between 21 March 1413 and 23 July 1417. The first order to release Lawrence de Platea, CCR 1413-9 p.5 is dated at Westminster, 18 April 1413, and the second order, CCR 1413-9 p.146 is dated at Westminster, 18 April 1414. Both the order to deliver his goods to the petitioner, CCR 1413-9 p.55, and the order that supersedes it, CCR 1413-9 p.56, are dated at Westminster, 15 February 1414.
