Nature of request
John Atte Wode and Robert Hitheger complain that some years ago, during the truce between England and Brittany, they and their merchandise were captured at sea by John Guyen and others from Brittany, John when he was returning from Brittany and Robert when he was going from England to La Rochelle. Since then they have sued continually to the king and his council, to no avail: but the king has now granted that they will have compensation at the present parliament. Therefore they ask the commons to ask the king that this grant might be put into execution.

[On face] Soit prie a Roy (A request is to be made to the King).[On dorse] This petition is to be delivered to the king's council, and the lords of the same council are to ordain for the complainant, by authority of this parliament, what seems to them to be most reasonable on this matter.

Dated on the quard to 1416. Assigned in Rot. Parl. Vol. IV, pp.89b-90a (no. 9) to 3 Henry V (21 March 1415- 20 March 1416). It was submitted to parliament and the parliaments in that year were in November 1415 and March 1416.
