Nature of request
Robert de Swynerton, who was appointed one of the collectors of the fifteenth in Shropshire in the parliament of the first year of the king's reign, states that just before the following Lent, while performing his office, he was attacked at Shrewsbury by Thomas Munde and four others, and seriously wounded, because he had taken a distraint at Preston Brockhurst. They took the distraint back. And because he sued to the king at the parliament at Leicester about this, they are threatening to kill him. He asks the lords and commons to ask the king to ordain due remedy for this.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] A Roy et as seignurs (To the king and to the lords).[On dorse] This petition is to be sent to the King's Bench, and the justices of the same bench, by authority of this parliament held at Westminster on Monday 16 March in the third year of the reign of King Henry, the fifth since the conquest, are to hear and determine the whole matter contained in the petition, according to their advice and discretion.
