Description
Petitioners
Margery de Aderley (Adderley), widow of Ralph de Adderley.
Name(s)
de Aderley (Adderley), Margery
Addressees
Lords of parliament.
Nature of request
Margery, widow of Ralph de Aderley, states that she previously sued a bill before her addressees against Edmund Perepount, concerning various grievance and oppressions, as a result of which a writ was sent to him to appear before them on the Wednesday after St John at the Latin Gate, which he evaded by leaving home; and he also menaces her kinsman William Whatton so much that he does not dare approach the country. She requests a writ to attach him by his body, addressed to Thomas de Rempston, knight and the Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, and another writ to warn him at his house, and to examine Thomas de Rempston about the matter, and to have him make Henry and Robert, Edmund's sons, find security that they will keep the peace concerning William Whatton.
Nature of endorsement
A writ is to be sent to the above-mentioned Edmund, to appear before the king and his council at the quinzaine of Michaelmas to answer both to this petition and to that of Alice de Langton; and the council is to have power, by authority of parliament, to do justice to the parties as seems best to them.
