- The prior and convent of the cathedral church of Our Lady of Coventry complain that people have been inserting pipes, without their permission, to draw water from the underground water-conduit that brings water to their priory, and also throwing foul rubbish into a stream called the Shirburn, which leads to their mills, and ask the king and lords in parliament to ordain that henceforth no-one is to insert a pipe into their water-conduit, or to break or cut into it, without their permission, or to hinder them from examining and repairing it, on pain of imprisonment, and payment of £10 to the king, and three-fold damages to them; and that no-one should throw filth into the stream; and that the Chancellor should let the supplicants have as many commissions, letters patent and writs as they need on this matter.
