Nature of request
Godfrey Rouland states that on the Monday before the translation of St John of Beverley, in the twenty-third year of Richard II, Thomas Wendesley, John Deen, and others came armed to his house at Great Longstone, broke into it, carried off his goods and chattels, imprisoned him in the castle of High Peak without food or water for six days, and then cut off his right hand. He requests a swift and suitable remedy.
