Nature of request
Thomas Felde, merchant of Salisbury, asks the lords to ask the king to grant him a letter under the privy seal to Thomas Rempston, Admiral of the South and West, to deliver to him some wine, which he took from a French ship in compensation for goods of his stolen at sea by the French last August, by authority of letters from the Admiral granted when he sued to the king at Nottingham, which he wrongly thought to be letters of reprisal. He also asks to be granted reprisal against the French, until he has made good his losses.
Nature of endorsement
[Taken from Rot. Parl. vol. III, p.512a, illegible on petition] This petition is to be sent to the king's council, and there, when he has found sufficient security, the supplicant is to have delivery of the wine mentioned in the petition, according to its purport; and with regard to the reprisal mentioned in the same petition, the king will consider this.
