Nature of request
John Cornewaill, and Elizabeth, Countess of Huntingdon, his wife, state that the king has granted them, and the proctor of the Abbot of Fecamp in Normandy, the keeping of all the Abbey's lands and possessions in England, in the king's hands because of the war, for a certain farm, assigning a certain sum to them from this farm, and that because of this, in the last parliament that farm was excepted from being employed for the expenses of the king's household, as the farms of other alien priories were. They ask the king to grant in the present parliament that they might have and enjoy their farm, and receive the sum assigned to them, and that they might also have and enjoy all the lands which belonged to John de Holand, formerly Earl of Huntingdon, in Devon, granted to them at farm during the minority of his son and heir, as contained in the letters patent made on this, notwithstanding any ordinances or resumptions to be made in the present parliament.

This petition is assigned by Rot. Parl. vol. III, p.483a-b (no. 2) to 3 Henry IV (30 September 1401 - 29 September 1402), but although it was clearly delivered in parliament, there was no parliament in 3 Henry IV. Instead it should be dated from some time after the relevant grant of custody to the petitioners in 1403 (CPR 1401-5, p. 205)
