Nature of request
Thomas Haxey states that in the parliament held at Westminster on the feast of St Vincent, in the twentieth year of Richard II, he delivered a bill to the commons, and was on that account adjudged a traitor, and forfeited all he had. He requests that the record and process of that judgment be brought into the present parliament, and that it be quashed and annulled as erroneous, and Thomas restored to his former state.

This petition is enrolled on the roll of the parliament on the Monday of the feast of St Faith, 1 Henry IV (1399) (Rot. Parl. vol.III, p.430a). The parliament referred to in the petition (that of 20 Richard II) was held in January 1397.
