Nature of request
[A very fragmentary document of Richard II, addressed to 'all the bailiffs and faithful . . .', presumably connected with the petition of the leathersellers and white tawyers that follows it at SC 8/21/1001B. It may be the charter of pardon mentioned in article 7 of that petition. All that can be made out are '. . . friendship and harmony between our same lieges . . . against our statute . . .of the same city, except those . . . to obey and to . . . our peace . . . belongs to us for all manner of treasons . . .royal majesty within the aforesaid city . . . be indicted or prosecuted for the same reason . . .on the aforesaid and any of the aforesaid we grant . . . in whose etc. Witness etc. at Westminster, on the twenty-second day of . . .']
