Odbek, Paul
Addressees

merchant of Bruges
Nature of request
Paul Odbek claims to have freighted a ship in Spain at Portugal, of which Jacob de Bath was master, to go to Bristol with wine. The ship was lost at sea at Hugorod, and the master renounced his freight, as because of the storm he could not keep his agreement; nevertheless it seems to have come ashore at Caerleon, in the Earl of March's lordship, and Paul was able to save twenty tuns of wine, which he carried to Bristol at his own expense. Later, one Ellis Spelly bought the ship without any freight, has seized the wine for the freight, and is over-charging for this and allowing nothing for the expenses occasioned by the storm. Paul requests a remedy.

This bill is to be sent to Chancery, and there, when those who are to be called have been called, right and justice are to be done.
