Nature of request
Writ from Edward III to William de Spipwyth, whom he has instructed to receive the attorneys appointed by the Abbot and Convent of Thornton to sue in Chancery for the recovery of their manor of Carlton near Bassingham, which Walter de Kolby, the king's escheator in Lincolnshire, has seized into the king's hand for certain reasons, telling him to send their names to Chancery under his seal.
Nature of endorsement
By virtue of this writ, I, William de Skipwyth, have received John de Gerlethorp and John de Drakenholm, jointly and separately as attorneys of the Abbot and Convent of Thornton, as this writ requires.
