Nature of request
A copy of the letters patent (SC 8/18/868F), together with the findings of the jury: that Gervase and his wife were in the king's faith on the relevant days; that Abbot Thomas was seised of the tenements for nine weeks and more; that he was disseised on the command of Hugh le Despenser; that neither abbot Thomas nor the present abbot changed his estate in any way; that the tenements are held of the king in chief as of the honour of Albermarle, but that they do not know by what services; and that they are in the king's hand because of the death of Hugh le Despenser.
