Nature of request
Thomas Tregoz states that John, his great-grandfather, leased the manor of Drayton to Robert his brother for life, with the reversion to John and his heirs, according to the deed which Thomas has, and that after Robert's death the manor came into the seisin of Geoffrey de Pichforde and Alice his wife. After his death Thomas brought a writ of entry against Alice. In order not to lose the manor, her son John granted the reversion to Bartholomew de Badesmere, so that Alice attorned herself to him. After his forfeiture she attorned herself to the king, while Thomas' writ was pending. After her death the king's escheator entered the manor. Thomas requests a remedy.

Coram domino rege.Faithful people are to be appointed in Chancery to inquire into the truth of the contents of the petition and other etc., in the presence etc., and the inquisition is to be returned and the king further informed, and orders are to be sent etc.
