Nature of request
Isabel, widow of Michael Belet, states that her late husband held the manor of Southcote in Berkshire in socage, so that the wardship of Michael, his son and heir, who is under age, belongs to her as his mother, but that he has been snatched from her by Roger Belet, the king's pantler, who is holding him in the pantry. Roger has also put one John Siward into Isabel's lands, who prevents her from working the land or sowing, and is trying to prevent her from receiving her dower by force, and to make her renounce her action and right in the wardship and upbringing of her son. She requests a remedy.
