Nature of request
John Duyn states that Thomas Achard died seised of certain tenements in Devon and Gloucestershire, held of the king in chief in his demesne as in fee, and that after his death he, John, sued writs of diem clausit extremum to the escheators of the counties, and the inquests found that he was the next heir and of age. John has sued for two years and more to have delivery of the lands, but without success. He requests delivery of the lands, as law and reason demand.

Dated on the basis of Fine Roll and CIPM references. CCR 1354-60 p.365 is dated at Westminster, 20 June 1357; CCR 1354-60 p.469 and CCR 1354-60 p.470 are dated at Westminster, 1 August 1358. Thomas must have died within the next two years, if the date of 1362 is correct, as John says that he has been suing for these lands without success for two years.
