Nature of request
Richard de Cerne states that Henry his father held a messuage and 80 acres of land in Broughton in Hampshire by the courtesy of England, which was of the inheritance of his mother, one Robert Parsone, and Olive his wife, and Robert Maysay and Agnes his wife, brought a writ of novel disseisin against him and Richard. Before judgment was brought with regard to Henry, who had entered upon the tenancy, Richard asked to be received to defend his right, but could not; and thus the assize found, through false jurors procured by the maintenance of John de Tiryngham and Walter le Waleys, and Richard lost his inheritance. He requests aid and a remedy.
