Nature of request
The community of Kesteven, Lindsey, and the citizens of the city of Lincoln, state that two water-mills at Bracebridge and Aubourn near Lincoln, which used to grind corn for the city and the aforesaid country, were knocked down at the instigation of malevolent persons, so that there is a great lack of bread in Lincoln and the aforesaid country when there is no wind, to the great distress of the inhabitants, the great lords, and other people passing through the city. They request that the king and his council command that the mills be re-built.
Nature of endorsement
The king's council is given to understance that the mills were knocked down by due process. And if there is any error, the person who feels himself to be wronged is to sue to have it reversed.
