- William de Elsyng states that with the king's permission he has founded a hospital in Aldermanbury outside Cripplegate for a hundred blind men, and has spent a great deal of his money in doing so: he requests that the king allow the warden of the hospital to purchase 40 li. of land or rent, in aid of their sustenance.

- It seems to the council, if it please the king, that it would be alms to grant him permission to purchase £10 of land, not held of the king in chief.It pleases the king.

- CPR 1330-4 p.197 is dated at Windsor, 26 October 1331. Rot. Parl. vol. II, p.401a, no. 125 in a note states that the hospital was founded in 1329.
