Nature of request
Thymelby states that the king is bound to him in a sum of money loaned to him in his first year as appears by letters patent under the cocket seal of Boston; and also of a further debt of Edward II as appears by letters patent under the cocket seal. He requests that having regard of the charters that the king order to the customs collectors of Boston that the sums be allowed against the next wool that he sends beyond the seas.
Nature of endorsement
Regarding the forty six marks due by Edward III, let it be ordered by a writ of Chancery to the customs collectors in the port of Boston that when they have viewed the letters patent which Thymelby has of this debt, if they find that it is due they are to allow it on wool hides and pelts which he loads in the port to send overseas, receiving from him his letters patent and his letters of acquittance. And regarding the debt of forty nine pounds due to him from Edward II, he is to wait longer.
