Nature of request
Moubray shows that Edward II was bound to him in £50 3s. as appears by a bill of his wardrobe, whilst he is bound to the king for £12 for victuals that he bought at Carlisle from John de Lowther. He requests that he be allowed the £12 against the £50 3s., and that the king order that he be paid the difference.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the treasurers, barons and chamberlains of the Exchequer that when they have viewed the bills, if they find that the debt is still due that then they should make allowance of the £12 of the debt due to the king, and make payment of the remainder, or make some suitable assignment as soon as they decently can, receiving etc. and charging etc.
