Nature of request
Catany requests that the king and council order that satisfaction be made to him for a loan that he made to Edward II on his wool, and which Edward II made an assignment for the same from the customs.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the treasurer, barons and chamberlains of the Exchequer that when they have viewed the letters of which the petition makes mention, if they find that the debt is still due, they should make payment, allowance or assignment as soon as they decently can, receiving etc. and charging etc.

The petition is difficult to date. Certainly early in Edward III's reign. As Edward II is recorded as being dead, the petition must be late in 1327, or thereafter. A date of c. 1327 has been adopted.
