Nature of request
Frombald shows that his grandfather purchased rents and services in Wingfield which ought to have descended to him following the death of his father. At his father's death, because the rents and services were held in chief of the king, he entered and held them until the king granted them to John de Wingfield of which he is now seised. Nature of endorsement
He should distrain and take action by the law.

Wingfield, [Suffolk].
People mentioned
Frombald Flemyng (Fleming), grandfather of the petitioner
Roger [Frombald] son of Frombald Flemyng and father of the petitioner.
Note
The petition is likely to date to 1326-7 for the king pardoned John de Wingfield for the acquisition of land in Wingfield from Frombald le Flemyng on 10 February 1326. It is not quite clear how that pardon relates to Frombald's own petition (CPR 1324-7, p.242).
