The commonalty complain that Claydon, late minister of the Forest has gone beyond his commission against law and reason and the assize of the forest oppressed a great number of them. They request grace and remedy.
Nature of endorsement
Everyone who has been injured should sue at the common law.

This petition like several in this file seems to date to early in the reign of Edward III. As Claydon was a minister under Hugh le Despenser when he was justice of the Forest it is likely that this petition is early 1327 once Despenser's influence had been removed.
