Nature of request
Copy of a writ of Edward III to the treasurer, barons and chamberlains of the Exchequer informing them that he has granted a pardon at the request of the earl of Lancaster, and also for a fine of £100 to be paid into the king's Chamber by Beckering, to Beckering, his wife, and Ticley and Rous for all manner of trespasses and extortions made against the king and his people during the time when Beckering was sheriff which they were convicted of by William de Thorpe. Beckering and the others are to be quit of the fine placed on them by judgment, and are not to be charged beyond the £100 fine.
