Nature of request
The vill has been charged for a long time by a false return for the fifteenth from their goods and chattels whereof the great part of the tenants are leaving their tenements because of the collections of the fifteenth and wool granted to the king, that those who remain have been put to such a great hardship that they have nothing to live on. They request that they be newly assessed for a sum that they are able to endure, having regard that the vill has been burnt four times in six years.
