Bruton has shown that in the thirteenth year of his reign his appointees to take wool in Hampshire, Popham and Exeter, took good Cotswold wool from him for the king's use for which the king was obliged to him for £53 2s. 7d. ob. as appears by letters patent under the great seal. However, Bruton has been unable to have the money by suit made in Chancery or Exchequer by which he is ruined if he doesn't have aid at this parliament from the king and his council.
