Description
Petitioners

King and council.
Nature of request
The people show that they hold only 7 virgates of land and are hamlets of Charlbury, whilst at Charlbury there are 20 virgates. However they are assessed for considerably more wool than Charlbury and request that the king grant that they be assessed in common with Charlbury, so that each be charged proportionately, understanding that if the people are not aided then they will be destroyed and ruined and will become beggars, and the king will not be served of this outrageous sum.
