Nature of request
Castelford shows that his father was granted pasture at Castleford by Edmund de Lacy, and he died seised of it. After his death his son John entered it and was disseised of it wrongly and without judgement by Henry de Lacy. The pasture has now come into the hands of the queen so that Castelford requests remedy as his charter has been kept from him all his time until recently.
Nature of endorsement
Let there be a writ in Chancery to certain good men to enquire of these things contained within this petition, and the inquest should to be returned and the king is to be advised.
